Because color steel itself has a high thermal conductivity coefficient, the temperature of the roof in summer is very high, and the main component of the coil is asphalt. The characteristic of asphalt is to soften at high temperatures, which causes the material to lose its waterproof effect. It is easy to crack and fall off causing serious water leakage on the roof. Moreover, the coil material has been rusted and corroded, so it needs to be waterproof again.


The above coils, TPO, geotextile, etc. are collectively referred to as "raincoat" waterproof:


That is, the waterproof layer laid by the coil material is like putting a raincoat on the building, saying that it is a "raincoat", because the waterproof layer of the coil material is laid on the roof, causing the waterproof layer of the coil material to The surface is close to each other, and there will be a hollow phenomenon in the case of uneven roofs. Because of the characteristics of the coil, if the coil is cracked, the water will flow into the coil and cannot be discharged. In a humid environment, it is easy to rust, resulting in increased construction costs later.

According to our many years of experience in waterproofing, I need to deal with the problem of roof leakage. When choosing a waterproof material, the following four conditions must be met:


1. The weather is hot in summer, and the temperature of the color steel roof can reach up to 75°C. The traditional asphalt waterproof material easily melts and flows under high temperature. After a period of time, it will crack and empty. The waterproof effect is not good. Therefore, the selected material needs to have extremely high resistance to high and low temperatures.

2. Because the color steel plate is in a contracted state for a long time, the rigid waterproof material has poor followability with the base surface, and under the tensile action of the base surface, it breaks and eventually loses the waterproof effect. Therefore, the selected material must have extremely strong tensile strength.

3. Since the roof waterproofing system is exposed on the roof, the selected material needs to have strong anti-ultraviolet capability to avoid premature aging and pulverization, resulting in the loss of waterproof effect. Therefore, the selected material needs to have strong resistance to ultraviolet rays and aging.

4. It has the functions of green environmental protection, harmless, tasteless, non-corrosive, and flame retardant to respond to green environmental certification and use.


For comprehensive consideration, our company recommends the following construction schemes for the problem of steel structure roof leakage:


Metal roof pure acrylic acid waterproof system (three coating-cloth)

Apply acrylic base layer waterproof coating (base layer) ------ used to bond with the substrate to achieve 100% continuous full adhesion (in the temperature range of 30°C to +80°C, the waterproof coating is not affected by temperature influences)

Wet laid polyester fabric ---- used to enhance the tensile, tear and fatigue resistance of the coating. (Single-strand polyester thread on the front and double-strand polyester thread on the back, with very strong stretching ability. There is an essential difference between stitched polyester and non-woven fabrics.)

Painted acrylic base layer waterproof coating (base layer) --- used for the mesh structure of the polyester fabric through the seam gap, so that the middle layer and the base layer paint are fully infiltrated and integrated, effectively enhancing the sealing performance of the coating.

Painted with acrylic surface layer waterproof coating (surface layer) ----reflects roof sunlight, used to resist external ultraviolet rays, resist aging and shrinkage, and protect the waterproof coating for a longer period of time.
